Old chunky side board probably comes from some kind of institution ( book keepers office, solicitors etc) and was almost impossible to move around due to its size and weight.
We decided to cut it down to lower its height and leave all existing "scares" exposed as this adds more character and reminds about its long history.
The twist here was to add little white birds hooks acting as door handles. Suddenly side board became much lighter and proportions much more pleasant. Rough and simple, love it. Thank you Tony :).
